Minister Barbara Wilson is a native of Newberry, SC. She is the oldest daughter of Mr. Willie R. Boyd and the late Mrs. Minnie Boyd.

 

Barbara is a 1977 graduate of Mid-Carolina High School and a 1982 graduate of Winthrop University where she received the Bachelor of Music Education and Choral Music Degree with a minor in English. While at Winthrop, she was choral director for the Ebonite gospel choir. She received a Master's of Education Degree from Converse College.

 

After college, she married her high school sweetheart, Horace Wilson, Jr. and they relocated to Ramstein, West Germany. While in Germany, she was minister of music and director for the renowned Vogelweh Mass choir which traveled and performed extensively in various parts of Europe.

 

From 1993-present, Barbara has served as the Minister of Music of the Foster's Grove Baptist Church in Cherokee Springs, SC where her husband is Pastor.

 

She is presently employed with Spartanburg School District 7 where she is a music teacher at Cleveland Elementary and is also an adjunct faculty member of Converse College. Min. Wilson was selected as Teacher of the Year at Cleveland for 2006-2007 and also served as a Mentor Teacher for the past 4 years. Barbara also serves as Music Director for the Spartanburg County Baptist Association.

 

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

 

Barbara is the proud mother of 4 children, Tony, Darryl, Bryan and Bethany.

She is also Founder and CEO of HARMONI Ministries, a ministry which advocates and endorses the holy institution of marriage.

 

In 1998, Minister Wilson accepted God's call to preach the Gospel

Most importantly, she is a born again Christian who enjoys sharing her faith and winning souls for Christ.

Her favorite passage of scripture is Psalm 34:1, which states: "I will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continually be in my mouth".
